Ki-ichi-ji conducts many Buddhists ceremonies on its temple grounds: a memorial service for ancesters for the Mayumi congregation, and many day-to-day events and activities to keep the history and culture of the Rinzai Buddhist lineage alive. The local community is actively involved. Please join us.

We attends funeral for dolls once a year.
equinox large segaki Board
The equinox represents the path to enlightment. Refraining from killing and many other activities is a custom since ancient times to represent this special period. We will be holding a memoral event for our ancestors on this day.
Flower Festival
We will celebrate called the birthday of the Buddha at this Flower Festival.
Arabonic-lights on the joint memorial service
This is the second even in the year to pay respects to your ancestors, at Obon. A lantern will be provided, to guide the soul’s journey during this festival.
Bon joint memorial service
This will be a join memorial service conducted for each district.
tOekaki in temple
An event with lanterns, with the purpose of generating nurturing feelings towards all children, and also as a memorial service for our ancestors.
Spirit Boeun concert
A memorial service that expresses gratitude towards our ancestors. Lanterns are decorated as part of this service.
Autumn equinox memorial service
The Eternal Memorial Service is conducted in tandem with this time of the autumnal equinox.

pounding mochi
A New Year ceremony: rice is pounded in a special vessel, to create rice cakes. The mortar used for pounding the rice is made from the zelkova tree that has been planted and grown in the temple.
